Terms of service
Effective October 1, 2026. These terms apply to merchants who install Aptum Checkout Protection, provided by Aptum, LLC.
The service
The app adds a checkout rule that stops payment on a quote checkout when the delivery address differs from the address the quote was prepared for, or when the quote has expired or cannot be verified. Checkouts that do not carry a quote are not affected. The app does not set prices, taxes or shipping rates, process payments, issue refunds or fulfil orders.
Price
The app is free. If that ever changes, any charge will go through Shopify's billing, which asks for your approval first.
Your responsibilities
- Your quoting system must add the quote attributes described on the support page. Checkouts without them are left alone.
- Test the rule with a test checkout link before relying on it, and keep the signing key private.
- Turning off or deleting the rule (Settings → Checkout) stops the protection immediately.
Availability and changes
The rule runs on Shopify's platform. When Shopify cannot run it, the rule blocks quote checkouts so that a changed address is never accepted silently. We may update the app to keep up with Shopify platform changes, and we may suspend it to protect checkout integrity. We will announce material changes on this page.
Warranty and liability
The app is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, Aptum, LLC is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from its use.
Ending use
You can uninstall the app at any time. What happens to stored data is described in Data retention.
